Reducing Wrinkles Around the Eyes

The lines and wrinkles that develop around your eyes are often called Crow’s Feet. The technical term for this condition is, Lateral Canthal Lines. These lines form naturally as you age due to loss of collagen and the repetition of facial expressions you have made throughout your life. The skin in this part of the face is thinner than in other areas, so it is more susceptible to wrinkling.

Crow’s feet become a concern for some people as they age. These lines are always visible, even when you aren’t making an expression. This can feel like a constant reminder of the aging process.

Fortunately, if you would like to reduce these lines and wrinkles, there are a number of treatments that can help. Our Wichita, KS aesthetic center provides expert skincare and rejuvenation procedures that can reduce crow’s feet, and many other age-related conditions.

Treatments for Crow’s Feet in Wichita, KS

Though it is not possible to completely eliminate most types of wrinkles, we can greatly reduce their appearance. Crow’s feet form largely due to decreased collagen and elastin. These two proteins give your skin its structure and elasticity. As we age and production is reduced, our skin no longer bounces back or retains shape the way it did when we were younger.

Care Esthetics of Wichita provides noninvasive procedures that can reduce the appearance of crow’s feet. Get in touch if you’d like to learn more about these services:

How to Prevent Crow’s Feet

If you’ve not yet developed significant wrinkles around your eyes, or if you’d like to limit new wrinkles, there are a few things that you can do to help your skin stay healthy.

A healthy diet with plenty of water is good for your skin. Avoid sugar and refined carbohydrates. Salmon, sweet potato, avocado, and broccoli are known to benefit the skin.

No Smoking. The squinting face you make when inhaling can contribute to crow’s feet.

Try to maintain a consistent weight. Fluctuations in weight can create permanent wrinkles. Frequent expansion and contraction of the skin on your face can eventually reduce elasticity and make your skin look loose.

To some degree, Crow’s Feet are unavoidable. If you would like to reduce the effects of aging, we’ll do our best to provide an effective treatment to help you maintain a healthy and youthful appearance.
